Do i have to be accepted by a cancer society or something?


im in grade 11 and as soon as i graduate grade 12 im planning of biking across canada for cancer donation..reasons being is because ive seen too many family members die of it and i want to help others..so do i have to like call some kind of cer society and get accepted or anything..also are there any drawbacks of an 18 year old doing this? thanks

I would call The American Cancer Society. They should be able to answer all your questions or redirect you.

Servan-Schreiber describes a cancer epidemic affecting the wealthiest countries in the world. Since 1940 the number of cancers has increased in all industrialised countries. This trend has picked up since 1975 and is particularly striking in the young. In some European countries, such as France, the cancer rate has increased by 60 per cent in the last twenty years. The incidence of prostate cancer has risen by 200 per cent in some European countries between 1978 and 2000, by 258 per cent in the USA over the same period.

Help with college work plz H.I.V and Breast Cancer? (UK)?


im doing a college project and need to write why i have chosen H.I.V and breast cancer as my two topics. can some one please tell me the death rate for these and possibly the amount of cases diagnosed and cured? only in the UK though please i need my report to be accurate also if you know any good sites that contain info about this please send me the link

I can’t help with HIV, but can provide a bit of information about breast cancer.

In 2003 (when I was diagnosed) Cancer Research UK reported that 40,000 women in the UK were being diagnosed with breast cancer annually. I don’t have more up to date figures, but as the breast cancer rate hasn’t increased significantly I imagine they’re much the same.
