breast cancer workshop

Cancer organizations can be found in almost every country. Most of these organizations are involved in spreading knowledge and fostering hope in the fight against all types of cancer. Some of these organizations fund free screening for people who could otherwise not afford. Some even support research programs in leading facilities across their various countries.

The organizations work together with other cancer bodies for example breast cancer foundations or even the ministries of health in the countries that they are based in. They help to inspire cancer patients in their fight against the disease. Some may even provide palliative care.

Cancer organizations try to create cancer awareness by organizing seminars and workshops where cancer experts speak to people about the disease. Cancer is a life-threatening disease yet many cancer types are curable if detected early. The organizations encourage people especially those at a high risk of developing the disease to go for regular screening. Through regular screening, the disease can be detected early and this may help in enhancing the chances of survival.

The organizations also try to raise awareness about the disease by sensitizing people about some of the risk factors.  It is said that the risk of most types of cancer gradually increases with age. Cancer organizations warn people about certain habits or lifestyle that may increase their risk of developing the disease. Tobacco smoking and overexposure to UV radiation puts one at an increased risk of developing the disease. Unprotected sex can lead to transmission of the human papilloma virus which is responsible for cervical cancer in women.
