Each neighborhood, culture, family, or community have different ways of sharing information. One thing we found while in South Carolina was quite unique. News and even advice is spread through barbershops and salons. With many people spending hours in a salon a week, it all seems so natural. We heard of an initiative by a gentleman named Gerald Footman to spread the word about colon canccancer and raise awareness of this deadly disease through those avenues.

    Excellent Tim….excellent. Tolland Connecticut supports educating individuals in support of National Colorectal Cancer Month. One upscale hair salon and a very nice restaurant have Colon Cancer Pins, educational material and Cancer Bracelets at their registers. The State of Connecticut put out a two page spread on Colon Cancer and a website to take a Colon Cancer test. Spread the knowledge……..Preventable Treatable Beatable!

    i have been rediagnosed with colorectal cancer which has spread to my lungs. As many doctors have told me my life may be coming to a close in the next few years, please continue spreading the word about this disease. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers.
