How close are scientists to finding a cure/prevention (even better) for cancer?
Any good links appreciated
thanx
Maxey I am too despondent to lol or even throw in some self disparaging remark about how I spelt everything correctly….just take it as read I am (my contacts will see a blue bobbly thing
They have the cure for cancer but it is not financially viable for pharmaceutical companies as it is found in nature and cannot be patented. I have heard thing like kernels of apricots and mung beans are high in the substance (poison) that could kill cancer cells but because it contains traces of cyanide they won’t allow it to be publicly known. I know this is just a myth and I have no links…if I dug around a bit i’m sure I could find it. Over the generations we have omitted vital things from our diet, one of which is poison which should have to fight Poison (Cancer). Simple things like apple cores whose pips contain traces of substances that could fight cancer cells are wasted along with vital immune boosting properties. I truly believe if we went back to basics with our diets we could regain this immunity.
Money making comes before lives and the drugs they have at the moment generate a huge income…they wouldn’t be without it…
Edit – it is worth mentioning there is a tribe of people who live in the Himilayas that have never had an incidence of cancer…wealth there is measured by the amount of apricot trees they own…
found a link…not a great one though..

Many decades. Lots more money is made from sick people than can be made from a cure. Polio is a good example of that. A cure could be found very quickly, but they have no intention of doing so.

i’m afraid Cancer Research Corporations have become to big to fail
medicine should be an art
and it should not be a commodity or an industry
edit
do you realize how much money is givin’ for free by way of donations from regular simple people
Cancer Research is here to stay
and lets think for a second, Cancer has been around a while, but today it seems like there is a 1 in 10 chance that person will catch some kind of Cancer
i don’t know, boggles my mind;)

Most interesting, however, what makes you think that I would accept that you are indeed HDM?
In answer to your question ……. they are not.
Edit.
My apologies for doubting you, but you know how it is on here at the moment.

Look up taheebo tree bark. I knew a man who used this for tea, he was very careful to make it is a glass pot for purity and drink it regularly. He recovered from cancer.

Having listened to this debate type of debate and question for a good 20 years I still believe we are 20 years away from any form of cure to the most basic cancer. I am sorry if this is not what you want to hear but remember I am not a scientist only a realist and we have been hearing about a cure just around the corner for the big C for decades. I hope I am wrong.

There is no cure. It may be possible for human beings to live until they are 200 years old or more but they are still going to die.
There is only one person who walked on this earth in an eternal perfectly healthy body, and that is Jesus.

To those that doubt, I can say that I do have a blue bobbly thing. HDM has more than one account.
Sorry you’re feeling down hdm.
I’ve seen a few promising things about cancer research recently. I don’t think that anyone can say how close they are to being able to cure or prevent it all. There are many good treatments available for cancer. My mum survived and a good friend of many years is still around, thanks to the excellent treatments that are available. He has been free for almost 10 years now.
Please don’t feel like things are hopeless and please keep your chin up. My email is always open. I would chat tonight, but I’ve had a really busy day, so I’m knackered.

I don’t think there will ever be the magic pill that ‘cures’ every cancer, but there are ongoing victories with new drugs and treatments which chip away at the disease. This morning on the radio it was announced that a drug commonly used in breast cancer has now been shown to be very effective against pancreatic and other cancers. Another small victory.
I can well remember when I was young that a cancer diagnosis was a death sentence, very few people lived more than a year. Today it’s the other way round lot’s of people are able to fight the disease and survival rates are getting better all the time. Its not uncommon to hear people say they beat the disease 20 years ago.
I do believe that a positive attitude helps Hab, keep your chin up and support your mum as best you can.
